INTENSITAS SERANGAN HAMA KUMBANG TANDUK (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) PADA TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT BELUM MENGHASILKAN DI PT BARITO PUTERA PLANTATION

Abstract

Rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinocerus) is an important pest of oil palm plantations and invades newly planted crops in the field until the age of 2.5 years. Rhinoceros beetle attack unopened leaves in the central bud, leaf midribs, broken fruit and even death of the plant. Given the losses caused pest monitoring is required to be controlled quickly and precisely. This study aims to monitor the Rhinoceros beetle population based on symptoms of attack on the northern B24 block of young oil palms PT Barito Putera Plantation. The research method used descriptive survey method with data collection from the field. The results of monitoring is known that the level of horn beetle attack is classified as a mild attack with an attack intensity of 3.86%.
